Worm In Brain

Recently there was a lot of talk about brain worms. All this talk was a result of the news in which a woman had a worm in her brain. This 'worm in brain' thing became popular because it was such a unique news to hear. This brain worm was unknown by doctors and they thought of it as a tumor upon diagnosis, but when doctors started to operate on the brain they were surprised to see that it was actually a worm which was residing in the brain.
This may be the first case in human beings, but this thing is quite common in animals like white-tailed deer and goats. You can easily find a worm in a goat's brain and to do this all you need to do is visit a slaughter house and watch for the opening of the skull. Most of the time it is likely that you will find a worm in the brain.
These worms are actually parasites that can exist in animal brain. These worms are called Meningeal worms and can usually live in the brain of a goat till its death. These worms can cause much harm to the animal and can prove fatal if some how they move into the spinal cord of the animal.
These worms can develop in the brain of an animal when it eats infested snail or slugs, when this is done, the worm transfers its larvae to the brain where it grows and gives eggs and starts a new life cycle.
Signs like weakness, mild infection, blindness, paralysis and inability to eat are some symptoms of this parasitism. At times these symptoms won't appear but your goat may behave unusual. Like I said I have seen these worms on so many goat brains and all of them don't show such symptoms, so you cannot say with absolute certainty whether a goat in parasitic or not.
For treating this you need to get you animal to a good veterinarian who would examine the condition of the disease.
