December 19th 2008 19:51

Ever since mankind started to learn things he also started to write down these things in some way or other. Also he started to write some things that were merely his imaginations. This expression of ones imagination gave birth to fiction. It was this fiction that created to so many different creatures, places and events that are just imaginations of some people. But the way they have been mentioned make us think of them as real.

Every person has his own imagination and it is also valid that every one likes to go in some fantasy world either through his imagination or else he has such a strong faith in such things that he wants to find these things in the real world.

Dragon is a similar creature that has existed in so many different accounts and has its roots in so many ancient every culture of the world. This mention of dragons in different cultures varies possibly due to the different types of thoughts regarding this beast. Dragons may have qualities like; a mammoth size, scaly bodies, wings etc and also their fire breathing quality is common in every culture.

Dragons signify different things in different cultures, like in the West, dragons signify; death, destruction, treachery and anger. While in the Chinese culture it signifies;prosperity, peace,co urage and nobility.

Dragons have many different types, although there is no such evidence of their actual existence nor history has any classifications regarding dragons yet they still have a number of different types. It is interesting to know that mythological creatures that are large and have reptilian bodies have their own names yet they are at times classified as dragons. This is because there hasn't been any proper classification of the types of dragons.

Here are some of the usual classifications Dragons
