Cubic Zirconia

Continuing with my jewellery posts, my next post here will focus on a rather semi-precious stone unlike the precious stones I have been telling about before. This semi-precious stone which is Cubic Zirconia which can be regarded as the center piece of modern jewelery.
It is true that most of the jewelry that is being made today consists of Cubic Zirconia in it. The synthetic production of high quality cubic zirconia has made it possible for us to get cheaper jewelry which is more beautiful. Different brilliant colors that can be produced with Cubic Zirconia make the jewelry beautiful than ever.
Cubic Zirconia is a crystalline form of Zirconium dioxide which is produced synthetically by growing the crystal in cubic form. When the crystal is grown in this way, it gives new look to
the compound much similar to diamond. When it is cut and polished, it looks just similar to diamond.
Only an expert eye can distinguish the difference between a diamond and a cubic zriconia. Another similar stone called Zircon is also available in commercial market which is a different compound of Zirconium but is not that brilliant than cubic zirconia.
Cubic zirconia presently is the most feasible stone to use in jewelry. Since jewelery prices are an all time high, only the rich people can think of buying precious stone studded jewelery. Other people usually don't care what stone it is, they just buy what is beautiful.
Since gold price is now so high people are buying 12k or 9k jewelry or mostly now people are into silver jewelry. All these new things are decorated with different colors of cubic zirconia. Now the most loveable metal, gold is so expensive that people have to now fall in love with cheaper alternatives!
